Night Call
Mid-slumber, you called.
What did you say, when you called?
Garbled words like spinning clouds,
we’re floating, lost in this dreamscape.
Wait, was that you on the call?
Oh, how I’ve missed our lullabies of sighs.
Now, only a ringing of white noise and a dial tone.
Did our call drop, dear?
I can’t hear you, but you feel so near.
Sinking further, falling under the covers of night.
I can’t get a hold of you anymore.
I suppose that’s why I dreamt you called.
